Forecast: Warm temperatures continue as showers return to the forecast

Temperatures Tuesday will once again reach near the 80 degree mark, but we might have to fight off a few showers and storms by the late afternoon and evening hours. A weak frontal boundary will be dropping south from the north later Tuesday afternoon, and it could fire off some scattered showers and storms. The better chances for showers looks to be right along the Western Kentucky Parkway, but forecast guidance wants to bring that line of showers down to southern Kentucky between 4pm and 8pm Tuesday.

Regardless of if we see rain Tuesday, our precipitation chances will begin to increase as the week moves along, especially for Thursday. More widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected by later Thursday afternoon and evening, but should begin to wrap up by sunrise Friday morning. Temperatures look to also be a tad cooler through the second half of the week, but highs will still be right on track for late April.
The weekend as of now is looking mostly quiet, with the exception being overnight Saturday and into Sunday. The timing still needs to be ironed out by the forecast models, but Saturday appears to be the nicer of the two days, however the timing may change as this week progresses, so stay with us for the latest on the weekend forecast.
